My computer have both a DVD drive and a CDRW drive. They both worked just fine until a couple of weeks ago when, for doesn`t matter what reason, these drives malfunction; my computer does not recognize these drives and hence whenever you stick a CD or a DVD within one of them they don't play. My Dad and I tried to figure out what the problem(s) be, but are stumped.
Does anybody out there enjoy any suggestions as to how to fix this problem?
Is nearby any motivation why two computer won't spot a computer drive?
If you are comfortable with it, embark on the computer case and be paid sure the ribbon cable connecting these drives is secure. With cd drives, the juddering caused from spinning discs sometimes loosens the nouns and if one is partially disconnected, neiether will work if they are on like peas in a pod cable.
In addition to the physical check above, progress to Control Panel - click on System - click Hardware tab - click Device Drivers and make sure the drives hold a good driver still installed.
