i would fairly say to strt the computer surrounded by safe mode and thn run a spyware check and also a check using system mechanic ..a fundamentally good tool to preserve ur comp at its best ...it worked for me .

It may be collectively a page fault error any due to faulty RAM or it could be the problem of missing system files close to HAL.DLL. So primarily make sure that your RAM module is OK. Then if the problem persist, Boot your machine into Windows 2000 Recovery console and repair the system files.
