Go through this check document steps.

If your Windows can play sound or music later your Sound Card should be working correctly.

In Sound & Audio setting, check that MIC is selected lower than the recording choice.

There should be a MIC icon on the backbone of your sound card to indicate the correct plug within point for your microphone.

Check that your MIC off on switch is surrounded by the correct position.

Do a recording oral exam. Use Windows basic audio recorder.
try to insert it within another usb port

==============================...

You necessitate to install the sound card /onboard nouns drivers.

Go the the manufacturer's web site of your computer / nouns card and download and install the drivers.

You probably also need several other drivers for you computer as powerfully. (Video, modem, ethernet, wireless, chipset, SATA, removable storage, etc,)
Make sure it is plugged into the correct jack, easy to put it into the wrong one.
