Maximum bump for Macbook?

What is the maximum an intel Macbook can enjoy of ram? e.g. to slots of 2 GB respectively giving a total of 4 GB Ram?

I know it probably is possible to fill it next to endless amount of Ram, but some computers will not run if the Ram is too illustrious.

Running Mac OS X 10.4.9, 1.83 GHz Intel Core Duo

You can only make a payment as much RAM as you have slots available. I've never hear of too much RAM. Sounds like your max on the MAC is 4 Gb.

Yes 2 x 2 Gb would work. Typically computers are built next to maximum capacity slots, so you are right contained by a way. If the slot be intended for a 2 gb chip, then you cannot put a terabyte (which i've not hear of)
