Yes and no.
If you've already partitioned the HDD next you can't do anything without using a 3rd do tool like Partition tricks. Be very wise in using this as it can really mess up your system.
If you've installed the OS but not here the rest of the HDD unparitioned then it's still possible depending on your OS. If you're running XP you involve to do the following:
Right click My Computer and choose Manage. This will bring up the Computer Management box. Under Storage you should see Disk Management. From there it will show you adjectives the HDDs you have contained by your system as well as partitioned and unpartitioned space.
Follow the following correlation.. This is what i have other been doing near my laptop when i format and instal the OS

if you have already installed the os and didn't give any unallocated space or a second second already created and just isn't formatted, next you might need something resembling partition trickery, but i don't even know the extent of that and if it will work. don't work in dos if you are unsure of how dos works. not simply will it take time, but nil will stop you from making an errror or corrupting you already installed os
