it can read cd and dvd and everything looks fine, but it only can't burn cd.
My Pioneer DVR-1810 won't burn cd-r. It burns dvd though.?
What program do you use to burn? Nero? Roxio Easy Media Creator? Those programs have usually updates that support unusual DVD writers. The CD burn facility contained by XP does not work in several cases!
In some cases you may need to apply a firmware update. Check the Pioneer website for that. Be sure you pick the right update. Picking the wrong one could twist your Pioneer.
Make sure that the media (discs) are supported. Buying first name brand often help.
maybe you can solely burn cd+r, not the cd-r. there is a difference. (it be a surprise to me also. cd-r - is not a dash, it's a minus. ) hope this help you.
