I hold a motherboard (ASUS P5PL2) which has one 1 IDE Slot. However I enjoy both a hard drive and DVD Burner which are IDE... Is at hand a way to connect both of these two the motherboard?
Looking for assist near IDE Cables/Port?
Yes, you should use one IDE ribbon cable near 3 connector so that one connector is to the IDE controller (Mother board), Second to the Hard Disk, the Third for the CD-Drive.
Make sure the Hard Disk is Master, put the jumper on Master (MA) position, and the disc is Slave, jumper at Slave (SL
) position.
Now start the PC and press F2 or Delete knob (To Enter BIOS Setup), and make the configuration on IDE factor or first page so that the PC can SEE both of them, save and exit
that's it.
Regards,
:)
IDE slots can connect 2 devices per slot.
Use an IDE cable beside two connectors.
Configure the jumpers to:
Make the IDE drive master.
Make the DVD burner slave.
